Dysregulated children have trouble staying within their optimal arousal window as they deal with daily life. A stern look from a teacher, too much homework, or even an overly exciting playground can lead to a child moving into a hyper/hypo aroused state. This workshop will unpack the importance of play in helping children regulate and will offer a wealth of activities to help children move more quickly back to states of optimal arousal.
At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- describe how up regulating and down regulating activities each play a part in
soothing the physiology - give a play-based developmentally sensitive explanation of the window of
tolerance to children - list five play therapy activities for soothing the physiology
